Therapeutic Massage
Reduce stress and rejuvenate with a massage mini-vacation. Massage has been documented throughout history, from the ancient Chinese, to the Egyptians, the Greeks and Romans. The manipulation of soft tissue (stroking, kneading or rubbing) has been employed in order to increase circulation, improve muscle tone, and increase range of motion, relaxation and the alleviation of pain.

There are many different massage techniques available to promote health and wellbeing.
My sessions combine Swedish techniques for enhanced circulation and relaxation along with more specific muscle and deeper techniques to reduce muscle spasm and discomfort.
My unique training as a Feldenkraistm practitioner enables me to aide you in exploring an even higher level of comfort and ease if you choose. |

Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is what most people think of as a “relaxation massage”. Here a practitioner uses a variety of strokes to first warm the muscles and increase circulation, and then may include more specific strokes to relax and release areas of tightness as needed. The session can be limited to one area of the body if the client requests, but generally a Swedish massage will integrate all areas of the body and use lotion.
Neuro Muscular Therapy
NeuroMuscular Therapy, a more specific and deeper muscle technique than Swedish. It is used to release muscle spasm and reduce pain. Lotion is not always necessary. Deeper does not have to mean unbearable pain. As a practitioner I believe that if you are holding your breath and tensing your body against the strokes this is too deep and your nervous system cannot gain new information it is not wise to “grin and bear it” As a client, receiving the work you must be able to breathe comfortably and relax into the strokes. Communication during the session is very important.
